How to Measure

Three measurements is all we need to quote you over the phone.

Measure the width
1

Measure the width

Measure the wall the awning will mount to, corner to corner, in inches. Include any space you want shaded beyond the doors or windows.

Check the mounting height
2

Check the mounting height

From the ground to where the awning bar will sit. You want at least 7 ft 6 in of clearance at the front edge once it is extended.

Decide the projection
3

Decide the projection

How far out you want the shade to reach — most decks land between 8 and 10 feet. Pace it out and mark the spot.

Not confident with a tape measure? We do it free, and there is no obligation to order afterwards.

Still not sure?

Call the shop on (313) 768-5820 and describe what you have — four decades of awnings means we have almost certainly seen yours before.

Rather we measured it for you?

Our crew measures free of charge anywhere in Metro Detroit — and there is no obligation to order.
